A clean sheet, roaring into 2024
Today, Monday 29 April, charity owned Volvo B10BLEs, 4855, R855 PRG and 4898, V988 ETN, attended there MOTs.
V988 ETN has been out of action for around 3 years whilst major works has taken place underneath her. Works from new fuel tanks, to power steering pipes has seen a few months of works by members of the charity. An inside clean up, which saw the cab seat removed, and part of the inside saloon meant members could get in and give her a good clean up ahead of the 2024 season.
V988 ETN was purchased in the summer of 2019 and attended a range of events from NELSAM to Seaburn, however due to COVID 19 she never attended any other rallies after developing an issue with steering and starting. Carrying Lime V2 she is one of the charities low floor preserved buses which shall be put with the group this year.
The Northern National Restoration Group charity, which is aiming to preserve the Transport Heritage of the North East, by restoring there home at Philadelphia to be able to educate, learn and teach skills to local people hope to have a the largest amount of low floor preserved vehicles on the rally scene this year in the North East of England.
R855 PRG, once again flew through her MOT for another year, after many little jobs taking place over the winter months, a rebuild of the turbo been the large amount of hours spent on her this year. This means that the NNRG charity hope to have 3 low floor buses at local events and exhibitions in 2024.
This weekend the group will take Scania L94UB, NK54NVN, to Whitehaven to support Leyland 52, ran by friends Workington Transport Heritage Trust. 5217 was recently named by the NNRG charity in honor of Chris Moyes OBE DL,
founder of Go Ahead Group. NK54NVN will carry special name
plates to honor Chris.
The next home event at Philadelphia will be our Open Day on May 26th 2024, 10.00 until 16.00 where we will be joined by a large number of friends from the local area including 500 group, Aycliffe Bus Group and J&C coaches as well as many others.
