Suzanne Gill explores Ghost sightings

Written by: Hayley Smith

The Northern National Restoration Group recently welcomed the discovery Chanels Suzanne Gill to the depot as part of a two ghost investigation night exploring into the deep depths of the building.

The Northern National Restoration Group HQ is a 1900s power station which was built to provide electricity for the local district tramways and collieries. There has always been an eerie feeling around the depot whilst doing maintenance on the fleet as well as the building itself. Many reports had been made from members and trustees of this feeling and some had even reported seeing shadows with no explanation at all! An agreement was made that it would be a good idea for a medium to have a walk around the building to see what they thought,

On a cold and dark winters evening a small group of the NNRG met at Philly for what was intended to be a informal walk around of the building for spiritualist and medium Suzanne Gill to get a feeling of the building. She quickly picked up on alot of sprits and went live on her facebook page to share a more in depth walk around with her followers. Chairman of the group Craig Smith led a tour of the building with Suzanne speaking about any feelings or connections that she picked up on along the way. The first spirit was picked up on next to the Exhibition room which the NNRG have filled with vintage memorabilia ranging from signs to bus driver uniforms. Suzanne expressed the presence of a lady name lil or lily who was a vibrant character who was ‘fast on her feet’ when she worked in what was a factory, lil watches everyone who enters Philly to this day.

Moving on in the walk around another woman with the name Katherine was picked up on in our Leyland National 2, 4681, who had died on this bus in either an explosion or a collision and it was expressed by Suzanne that the lady on the bus had to be moved on as she could no longer stay on this bus. The building as a whole had many different stories in different areas however the spirits of 2 men lingered next to the back wall of the building where there was a fire and the 2 spirits stayed there. Upon extensive research made by Hayley following on from the walk around she found that three men and four boys had lost their lives in the powerstation on September 1st of 1828. In this part of the building the name Alan was also picked up who wanted to make it clear that he was there for a reason and visited the building regularly.

The top floor of the depot was very active during the ghost hunt, during the beginning of the night whilst Suzanne was speaking with the rest of the team there was knocking and some other noises from the floor above, all of the team were accounted for at this time. From this point the team knew that the upper floor would be one of the most active areas. Two small rooms on the left at the top of the stairs had a pair of women whose spirits were still working in that room back to back typing away as if they were still alive. There was also the spirit from the exhibition room who had lots to do with this room upstairs. One of the most eerie rooms investigated that night was an office room in the back corner of the upper floor, this would have been where the boss had worked and the room had a generally negative feel to it as you were standing in it. Initially this entity did not allow Suzanne to enter this room on multiple occasions, members of the NNRG also tried to open the door in which they failed. Within this room there were connections to a man named William however we do not know if this was the boss of the building or someone higher up in the chain of command within the factory. As this entity does not like change or much noise on the upper level the sound of the Yamaha el90 which can be heard during our open days does not make the spirit happy at all. It was said that this man died in his office from a heart attack and no one had realized that he had passed because none of the workers went into or near his office because of his personality. Before leaving the top floor symbols were found on the windows which were not there before which almost looked like targets.

The new year brought a new ghost hunt, this time the cellar was going to be unlocked and unveiled 3 spirits which still roam in the darkness. A feeling of smoke and steam was picked up on by all members of the team with a tight feeling in their chests, which could have been a link to the cellar being part of the steam works and factory above, to this day you can still see some parts where machines would have been. A gentleman named ‘Howie’ was picked up upon at the far side of the cellar who was the most active during the night, this spirit at first was very tolerant of our presence but slowly started to change his mind and would stalk us in the cellar circling the group as well as throwing objects whispers could be heard whilst in the part of where this ghost was and it had an eerie feel to it. Suzanne managed to capture a photograph of this spirit whilst communicating with it, the spirit was using knocks to answer questions made by Suzanne. 2 other ghosts in the cellar were not as active as Howie one just stood and watched every move which was made and was a spectator of all activities, this gentleman was older than the others but still connected with them. As the group were leaving the cellar an object was thrown at Kyle almost as to push the group away from this part of the building and footsteps could be heard walking towards us, after this most of the team started to walk away to start the next part of the investigation upstairs. This left Kyle, Craig and Ian at the bottom of the stairs following the group up, all of a sudden a large bang was heard and shadows could be seen out of the corners of their eyes.

The top balcony had many energies in it, one being the most powerful of all which we referred to as the ‘gaffer's room; who is the boss of the building. Last year when this room was investigated the room locked by itself and held a male who does not like intruders or people being around his office, Anita and Ian stayed in this room alone to see if the energy from the ghost picked up and to see if any activity happened. Once rejoined by the group they reported a heavy cigar or tobacco smell which in the previous investigation night Suzanne suggested that he was a heavy smoker and would always smoke in his office. The rooms on the far right of the upper floor surprised many of the group as it is never normally active however when entering the room there were handprints on the wall which were never there before. This paint was still wet as it was easily smudged, initially the team thought that a feminine spirit still roamed in this room however the hand prints were very large. When we had entered this room Hayleys Gopro had switched off which was fully charged and Suzanned camera had also stopped working at this point after we exited the room our devices turned back on which the group were astonished at. When the group had re-convened in the middle of the balcony the camera panned around to show the livestream the buses all parked up and a large orb could be seen going across the middle of the screen as well as a mist.

Throughout the last 2 ghost investigation nights both were very active however the last one was the most active, ‘the gaffer’ seemed to have an evil spirit which linguered in the balcony and seemed to have the power of messing with electricity and technology however the entities in the cellar sent many chills down the spines of all of the group with a feeling of being stalked and watched which left many of the team constantly looking over their shoulders. This investigation revealed many things about the NNRG building which we did not know about and the team hopes to investigate more in the future.

A huge thankyou to Suzanne for her time and skills, you can check out her website www.Suzannegill.net for any questions, readings or information on her public ghost nights.
